    It depends on the fighting game of your choice, actually. You will win by mashing in Soul Calibur, but you will lose in BlazBlue.
    But yeah, it’s kind of why fighting games and musou-type games are my favourite – I love mashing <3

        Actually, it’s only button mashing if I don’t know what I’m doing. Which I kind of do. But I still manage to die by throwing my boomerang when trying to spin attack up as Link.

    Worst is when you have those games that have auto-guard and the other player demands it………. Are you so pathetic that you will just use a ranged fighter and given them auto-guard!

    I think the last panel is messed up. Based on the text, I believe it’s supposed to read:

    “CAN I GO NOOOWW?!?”
    “NO!”
    “NOT UNTIL YOU SEE YOU CAN’T JUST MASH BUTTONS!”

    But the placement of the bubbles reads as:

    “CAN I GO NOOOWW?!?”
    “NOT UNTIL YOU SEE YOU CAN’T JUST MASH BUTTONS!”
    “NO!”

      Unless you’re reading from left to right, in which it’s in the correct order, which is most likely what she intended. If you’re reading up-down then yeah, it’s incorrect. Dunno, makes sense from my point of view.

    I had a nice little experience like this, but it was the opposite. Playing Ryu, some kid picks E Honda back when SF2 was still new and in the arcades. He tells me left and right all about how he couldn’t be beat, had a perfect strategy. Mashes the punch button. I cross up. (For those not in the know, a cross up is where you do an air attack so close to a behind attack it negates any defenses for a fraction of a second.) E Honda had a very brief window between Hundred Hand Slaps. And I slowly demolish him. He starts whining and moaning that I cheated and how I owed him quarters for cheating. When he didn’t get them, he ran off crying.

    Button Mashing can work depending on the fighting game, but be prepared for it to blow up in your face depending.

    I’ve always mashed buttons, on the rare occasion i DO somehow learn a combo, I almost never use it.

    This is just -exactly- what happens every time I try to play a fighting game against someone. I try to pull combos, they hammer the punch button. They win EVERY time.

    Pretty much me and friend (and other friend), when playing on his… PS3 I think it was? It was a Mortal Kombat game. I was completelly unused to the PS3 pads (I hate them) and didn’t remember a single command input for character I like, not to mention that on this version they could be diffrent. I still won all the matches of the day xD He wasn’t too happy about it heheheh~

        Hm~ I guess you are right here. I mean I know a bit how to play Mortal Kombat but at this moment I was…let’s say 80-90% of what you say, random sword swinging and only 10-20% of skillful sword swinging… My left thumb however was 100% stabbed by sword swinging…thing…

    My dad just started playing super smash bros ultimate and he was kirby. He had no strategy, just mashed buttons. I haven’t won since!! ;D

    i was playing super smash bros and i just downloaded it. my friend offered to play with me, and i just mashed the buttons. i was playing on a floating island as the battlefield and i just jumped down and got killed like 10 times! (now im much better at it and beat my friend 6 out of 10 times. we’re pretty even.
