You do realize that calling ‘first’ aside being an annoyance to people coming here for actual comments is meant to claim the first post to a thread.
By replying to an already existing post you by definition could not have been ‘first’, and looking at the time-stamp you actually are seventh.

And that’s why I gave up on consoles long ago. I wait for desktop release and if it doesn’t release then I don’t play it. Their income loss. More than enough games out there already.
I haven’t played a computer game in years. And know what? I can play guitar, build musical instruments, I have friends, family, create on virtual worlds…
Wait… does that count a as a game? No, virtual worlds aren’t games. Unless they are. Oh, and there’s Solitaire and Sudoku and Yahtzee. I play those daily. Do they still qualify as “games”?
Gaming CONSOLE? Why, oh why would anyone put themselves through that much expense and pain on a limited-title platform? To herd cuckoos?
Oh, and I have time to read web comics about gamers.
I dunno about YOUR consumerist society, but MINE taught me the more money you save, the more you have to spend on fun things. It taught me to buy lots of stuff and hold onto that stuff forever, not buy new ones. I already have a SNES! I’m not even interested in this.. thing.. . …… okay maybe a little interested.
Really the only reason I (and probably a lot of people) have any interest in it is being able to finally play a legally-sanctioned instance of Starfox 2.
Regarding the last panel the problem is that I only have five of the twenty titles listed and buying physical copies of Super Metroid and Super Mario RPG alone are the MSRP price of the SNES Classic. As for emulating/EverDrive there is this law called the Copyright Act, and for some reason when it comes to video games people think it doesn’t apply.
That last panel perfectly illustrates the worst part of all this: as someone whose received so much joy from Nintendo I want to support the official release, but they’ve made it impossible for me.
meanwhile, im over here going i’ve never owned an NES period, so I’m trying to get one to play games i never got to play with my boyfriend…..so its not completely pointless for some of us
