Poor, poor Gamercat and friends. Sadly, this is true, especially in Australia; there’s been christmas and even easter products for almost the whole year now. :(
I work at Coles and our first Christmas products arrived early September, but it is vastly outnumbered by our Halloween products which onlt got put up at the start of October.
It’s true here in the States, too. Although I haven’t seen easter yet, our Halloween section at many stores is right next to Christmas stuff. Even home improvement stores have giant yard inflatables out already, only some of which are spooky, right near the tinsel-decked trees.
It’s enough to make me stay home rather than go out.
Craft stores have to put out holiday stuff months ahead of time so people can work on projects well in advance. Specialty wreath and tree makers have to start working on orders months ahead of time. What I don’t get is why places like Walmart and home improvement stores stock their shelves so early. I figure people must be buying them, otherwise why waste the retail space? Maybe it’s psychological. Get people thinking about holiday consumerism early and could drive up sales of other products for three whole months.
Unfortunately not – we had Christmas stuff in the end of April… All that Lebkuchen, Spekulatius and Stollen is next to the few small halloween stands and I know that a few stores had to restock already.
We all feel the kittens’ pain. Some stores seem to have become year round Christmas shops. Honestly, they might as well just divide the store into sections by holiday… I’ve been seeing Christmas stuff since MAY in my area! O.o And whatever happened to Thanksgiving!?! It’s like they all go Halloween –>> Christmas and maybe, if you’re lucky, you’ll see a single solitary lonely turkey. I miss the little Pilgrims and Indians and cornucopias!! You see the colorful leaves, but half the time they have Halloween specific stuff attached to them so they don’t really work for Thanksgiving so that holiday ends up being reduced to fall leaves, uncarved pumpkins and that one lonely turkey. :(
It sickens me to see that some people are so obsessed with Christmas (*cough* hallmark channel *cough*)that they start celebrating it TWO holidays before it
I saw Hallmark channel and immediately wanted to punch something. I have a deep, passionate hatred for Hallmark channel and the crap they put out. My mom is a die-hard Hallmark fan, so I have to sit through all of that crap OVER AND OVER, EVERY YEAR. And what really gets me is most of their “Christmas” movies aren’t even really about Christmas; they’re simply about a romance that occurs during the holiday season and then gets some corny “Christmas spirit message” slapped on the end.

WHO ELSE HATES HALLMARK CHANNEL!? #nobodylikeshallmarkchannel
“Christmas in July” is actually a thing (you can read the wikipedia entry about it – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas_in_July) , but it used to be JUST July. Then you wouldn’t see Christmas stuff until November. Then the retailers and advertisers clambered on board the “Christmas in July” train and finally figured out that they could milk it through the entire summer and still push holiday sales through until Easter. Mark my words: by December (if not before) you will see Easter eggs and Mardi Gras masks right beside all the four leaf clovers and Valentines candy. :(

Holidays are like the seasons… they don’t obey the calendar.
MichaelgRook
Well, technically they do. The problem these days is the Holiday SEASON.

The stores near me start putting out Thanksgiving decorations in September. I don’t remember this sort of thing when I was a kid.

Also, I have a suggestion for Glitches costume this year.
It would make me so happy is glitch was foxy from fnaf this year.

The next comic is coincidentally about Glitch picking out a costume.
Ninsega21
And sadly it’s not anything FNAF related, but still have hope, cause the costume that was in there is NOT the costume he gets.

I hardly bother with decorating now. Get so burned out seeing it all every time I go grocery shopping for so long.

My heart’s been cryimg abot this for years. The only reason I laugh about this is the fact that it gets earlier and earlier every year.

Kind of glad that in Germany this is better handled. Our biggest shopping mall even gets the fitting decoration depending on what event comes up next
