For example, while I’m not a webcomic writer, I am a programmer, and I have run into cases where I’ll have a program with the same concept as once I made a while ago, but it turns out the other one was made first. So what? It doesn’t mean I copied them.
Back to the general concept of webcomics, I’ve actually thought that I should start one, and if it happened to be about gaming, I probably would’ve made the same mistake. Until now, when I saw this argument, I’d never even heard of the VGcats comics, much less read any.
About the second part, really, dude? If you don’t like it, don’t read it. There are several thousands/millions/billions/whatever more people who would like it or already do. You certainly don’t need to hate on it.
I love both vgcats and gamercat. I look to vgcats for his negative reviews, while I look to gamercat for her cute positive thoughts on games. Though I admit I lean more to gamercat because vgcats could get a bit perverted, but he’s a guy, so it’s expected.
Similar ideas always and will happen. To me I like when that happens, it means I get to see it in more than one way. xb

Congrats, no one cares! Yes these are the same idea, but seriously, getting this pissed over one comic being the same. I’m a big fan of VG Cats and only came across this through VG Cats (That’s how I found this argument), and for hating this comic, that’s just your opinion, these comics are nice and the art is well done. I still prefer VG Cats over The Gamer Cat, but this is still nice to read (I prefer VG Cats because its a bit more mature than this). Its good to have a young aged friendly gaming comic on the internet.

I like your comic much better than the other. I’ve had similar ideas to comics before, but I’ve always managed to represent an old joke in a unique and funny way, like you’ve done. Even if you knew the joke existed, an idea is not copyright. You have every right to make this.
And i love it! It’s awesome, funnier, and less gory. Much better than the other. It’s original.

I do enjoy VG Cats, but their updates have gotten so slow, I don’t even bother to check their website. And personally, while Scott has a nice style, I would still prefer The Gamercat to VG Cats even if they updated more often.
