You have a PS3 and also I will only get it if it won’t have so many dlcs so I don’t have to wait for the second edition of it with all the major dlcs so I can save some money
I feel like there are actually some games that need tutorials. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes tutorials are annoying, but usually you’ll either have a controller or keyboard with way to many buttons to figure out, or the gameplay is very complicated. Back in the NES days, you only had four buttons and a control pad, and all you had to do was go right. For an example of a game, how do you play Minecraft without any knowledge of the crafting recepies?
Wish they stop with the dlcs and just release the game with all the extras like when they released Borderlands and then Borderlands game of the year edition, I hate when that happens so I sometimes wait when I can so I can save money
This is so true. I remember stumbling through Super Mario with my brother and sister. Multiplay meant taking turns – GASP! TIme to break out the Captain N DVDs!
(Off topic complement) see, just a simple idea like gamer cat can become so great and big with just the creativeness. Truely this is amazing in my view.
I remember these days quite well. Obviously when you look at my name. Games were almost impossible and in some cases like Battletoads, with 2 player, they were impossible. This ended with the advent of the actual ending. Suddenly you didn’t need the game to be almost impossible for the player to feel like they accomplished something! And with that, the programmers could concentrate on other stuff! As of all things in this world, that has been both good and bad.
I just wished they still did what they used to do. You send in a picture of accomplishing a goal they gave you, and in return, they’d send you a physical prize in return. (An iron on patch). That’s the kind of thing I could see great customer/company relations with.
I have a couple suggestions for ya.
1.He should play Minecraft.
2.Since its around Valentines Day, you could add a girl cat for him
3.BRING BACK ANONYMOUSE!!!! I’VE ONLY SEEN IN LIKE ONE COMIC!!!
Here’s something interesting…
There was Tutorials in almost every early SNES/NES game out there that were restrained right there in front of you before you even start playing. Think about it. Super Mario World (heck even the new ones on the wii), they all have the start menu playing some levels in the background. Here you see things such as Small Mario jumping onto a goomba head, hit a question block from below, grab a mushroom then jump a turtle/knock out his shell and then kick the shell at the others…
In that LITTLE MOMENT, you were taught nearly everything you could do to these creatures, heck later it even shows how Yoshi worked like how he doesn’t knock Koopa out of their shells and even if your Small Mario, you only get knocked off and not killed when touched…
Wow. Time does fly I remember having to figure everything out on my own in my Mario gameboy advance game b/c I cut up the guidebook… XD I found secrets all by myself and it felt great! Same with pokemon Silver( no secrets though I think) and Donkey Kong Country…-shivers-so many game over screens…
Not for he kind of games you need hours just to figure out how to get from one area to the next myself… (there are many who feel differently and I respect that even if sometime I do not understand it) I’m a casual gamer who plays for the sake of the story and less for achievement hunting…
Though I remember trying Daggerfall a few times… never made it past the first side quest XD one of the more difficult games, not to mention the good old JRPGs (nightmare! XD)…
Today’s simpler games with tutorials have their appeal and for someone like me they’re much more enjoyable :)
At least those diamond in the rough sometimes found among them :) (DA:O, Skyrim, Oblivion… :))

I usually skip the tutorial if I can. I learn the controls by mashing every button over and over til I get it right

Eh, but I don’t play games for the gameplay necessarily. Story is the main thing I focus on.

There are, however, some tutorials that are really annoying such as Navi, or Omachao!
AR

Man, even when they TELL me the controls some games are still tough. Maybe it’s because I’m fiddling around instead of making much actual progress…

That last panel is only navi’s fault
