  1. I usually skip the tutorial if I can. I learn the controls by mashing every button over and over til I get it right

    1. Then my friend you suck. Heck, I learned every thing I know about Super Smash Bros Brawl from my friend Tyler.

      1. OH shit you know Tyler!?
        damn son dem skeeeeiilllz

      2. Well I learnt how to do my moves in Super Smash Bros. by doing them myself!

        1. same

        2. the lolz if it turned out young malcom was playing captain toad treasure tracker XD
(I know it didn’t exist then, shut up)

        3. clicker games are good for button mashing games like smash bros

        4. super sMASH bros.!

  2. No one needs the hotlines now, we have something better, the internet, where no one knows you are a GamerCat.

    1. If this comments were to have the like button you’d have my like for that last part (^-^)b

      1. you mean where he’s playing cookie clicker?

  3. Sterling Ericsson

Eh, but I don’t play games for the gameplay necessarily. Story is the main thing I focus on.

    1. You and I are in the same boat there.

  4. Dark Souls 2 looks promising.
Anyone can be invaded this time around, so no one is safe.

    COME AT ME BRO!!!

    1. You have a PS3 and also I will only get it if it won’t have so many dlcs so I don’t have to wait for the second edition of it with all the major dlcs so I can save some money

  5. Man, you made the dude really cute. Goatee and all, haha.

    1. Sage Like the Plant

      I’m not alone! Yay! I-D

  6. I feel like there are actually some games that need tutorials. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes tutorials are annoying, but usually you’ll either have a controller or keyboard with way to many buttons to figure out, or the gameplay is very complicated. Back in the NES days, you only had four buttons and a control pad, and all you had to do was go right. For an example of a game, how do you play Minecraft without any knowledge of the crafting recepies?

    1. There are, however, some tutorials that are really annoying such as Navi, or Omachao!

      1. or Cuphead, it’s almost as hard as the *actual game*!

  7. Wish they stop with the dlcs and just release the game with all the extras like when they released Borderlands and then Borderlands game of the year edition, I hate when that happens so I sometimes wait when I can so I can save money

    1. There are dlc that is aditional content and not just the rest of the game.

  8. This is so true. I remember stumbling through Super Mario with my brother and sister. Multiplay meant taking turns – GASP! TIme to break out the Captain N DVDs!

  9. Da hash slinging slasher

Glitch sleeping made me melt X3

  10. Can’t believe how excited I am about the GaMERCaT and Glitch kickstarter!

The plush toys of them look GREAT!

  11. Da hash slinging slasher

(Off topic complement) see, just a simple idea like gamer cat can become so great and big with just the creativeness. Truely this is amazing in my view.

  12. i wonder what happens if i let my cat play cookie clicker…

    1. He will try to eat the cookie and break your computer

  13. you should put the human in the characters section

    1. He is(l think)

  14. I remember these days quite well. Obviously when you look at my name. Games were almost impossible and in some cases like Battletoads, with 2 player, they were impossible. This ended with the advent of the actual ending. Suddenly you didn’t need the game to be almost impossible for the player to feel like they accomplished something! And with that, the programmers could concentrate on other stuff! As of all things in this world, that has been both good and bad.

I just wished they still did what they used to do. You send in a picture of accomplishing a goal they gave you, and in return, they’d send you a physical prize in return. (An iron on patch). That’s the kind of thing I could see great customer/company relations with.

  15. I Saw the Comic on Taptastic of Cookie Clicker, I played It. Damn It’s Freaking Addictive D:

  16. Also I unlocked the One Mind Thingy, I don’t want to buy It, that Grandmapocalypse seems Too creepy xD

    1. GOD
      GRANDMAPOCALYPSE IS GOOD

  17. Ever play the newest Mario and Luigi game? That entire game was a tutorial.

  18. Man, even when they TELL me the controls some games are still tough. Maybe it’s because I’m fiddling around instead of making much actual progress…

  19. That last panel is only navi’s fault

    1. Navi can be blamed for ALL bad things in the gaming-verse. She is in our heads

  20. GaMERCaT is so cute in the last panel… And the owner is pretty cute too x3. Awesome.

  21. Oh my gosh, this is my new favorite webcomic!

glad to see it was uploaded a few days ago. n__n The last two comics I came across were dead.

  22. I have a couple suggestions for ya.
    1.He should play Minecraft.
2.Since its around Valentines Day, you could add a girl cat for him
3.BRING BACK ANONYMOUSE!!!! I’VE ONLY SEEN IN LIKE ONE COMIC!!!

    1. 1. He does
      2. There is
      3. Where?

  23. The young owner with a missing tooth, remember me a lot of Glitch! XD

  24. i cant wait until later today for the new comic (^-^)

  25. Here’s something interesting…
There was Tutorials in almost every early SNES/NES game out there that were restrained right there in front of you before you even start playing. Think about it. Super Mario World (heck even the new ones on the wii), they all have the start menu playing some levels in the background. Here you see things such as Small Mario jumping onto a goomba head, hit a question block from below, grab a mushroom then jump a turtle/knock out his shell and then kick the shell at the others…
In that LITTLE MOMENT, you were taught nearly everything you could do to these creatures, heck later it even shows how Yoshi worked like how he doesn’t knock Koopa out of their shells and even if your Small Mario, you only get knocked off and not killed when touched…

  26. Can you do Megaman possibly? I really LOVE these comics and i wanna see how much better it’ll get! :)

  27. It wasn’t ‘how do I jump’ it was ‘HOW THE HECK DO I ROLL?!’ in the original Metroid. XD

  28. Wow. Time does fly I remember having to figure everything out on my own in my Mario gameboy advance game b/c I cut up the guidebook… XD I found secrets all by myself and it felt great! Same with pokemon Silver( no secrets though I think) and Donkey Kong Country…-shivers-so many game over screens…

  29. Not for he kind of games you need hours just to figure out how to get from one area to the next myself… (there are many who feel differently and I respect that even if sometime I do not understand it) I’m a casual gamer who plays for the sake of the story and less for achievement hunting…
Though I remember trying Daggerfall a few times… never made it past the first side quest XD one of the more difficult games, not to mention the good old JRPGs (nightmare! XD)…
Today’s simpler games with tutorials have their appeal and for someone like me they’re much more enjoyable :)
At least those diamond in the rough sometimes found among them :) (DA:O, Skyrim, Oblivion… :))

  30. Camolot the Creator

    Don’t worry.
Getting Vanilla Crazy Cake in Portal will still give you bragging rights.

    WHICH I DID.

  31. Glitch is adorable in the small corner he was put in.
    :P

  32. my cat came over jus now wondering what this was XD

  33. POKEMON SUN TUTORIAL WAS ONE HOUR. LIKE I PLAYED POKEMON BEFORE

  34. Glitch in the first panel.

  35. soooooooo no reaction from malcolm seeing his cat playing cookie clicker.

    😂👍

  36. Doesn’t this mean that Malcolm knows Gamercat actually games now.

  37. I just whenever i get a new game, i just bang my head at the costy of loseing a groove of one game to get one on this game

  38. Note how the computer shows an actual cookie clicker screen. I wonder if he has a factory yet…?
