Half-Baked

It's okay, GaMERCaT, we're all hypocrites. He doesn't give enough credit to the possibilities of the mobile platform, but I have to agree with him on the first point. I know when I'm being bamboozled and I don't like it.

  1. Huh, looks like I’m first.

    1. Well just using this to tell u guys but I can hack myself to get 69999984738299728493826616272838595725263859695004927263748490948271627939496069472662637 Collies on the the cookie clicker where you go search up “original cookie Clicker” and click the first web u see and I can hack that much cookies. It’s simple.

    2. Candy crush is nothing like tetris!

    3. Currently, im at 3.017 billion in total :3

WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE

      1. i am at like, i don’t even know how much i am at, because it just says “infinity”.

        1. I hacked so much that mine also just says infinity, and I got bored and stopped playing.

  2. Pixel is the one gamer that actually admits to playing candy crush. At least you don’t pay to play cookie clicker.

    1. Plus, it’s made a bit better by the fact that Cookie Clicker is literally just a simple java game this french kid threw together in a week or so, and since it blew up he went “well, people like it, I may as well keep supporting and updating it.”

      1. And it is not Java, it’s JavaScript, two totally different languages (yes, JavaScript derives from Java, but they are not the same, please, world, do not mix these two again and again)

        1. JS hardly even derives from Java. They’re totally unrelated. Why it’s called _Java_Script is anyone’s guess.

        2. If my memory serves:
Microsoft made javascript, which began as a peice of crap and found its way into the web. now its nice to know for intermediate web pages.

Sun (mightve been called something else back then) made Java, which was this project language to make programming for any system easy. it kinda failed at first, but became better – at the cost of raping the machine running it.

        3. It does, it really does. JavaScript got its name from Java because JavaScript was first called LiveScript and Netscape and Sun cooperated together so that LiveScript and Java can interect together.
“derive” was the wrong word I searched for: Inspired serves it better

And to Luxen De’Mark: Nope, Netscape and Sun made JavaScript out of the interaction of LiveScript and Java as stated above. Microsoft created TypeScript which is almost a derivate of JavaScript, at least they are very similiar in most cases.

        4. are these companies really that different

  3. I hate to disagree, Pixel, but Tetris and Candy Crush could hardly be more different. One takes quick thinking, reflexes, skill, planning and strategy. The other purposely limits the moves you can make to such an insane degree that actually getting through any given challenge is at least 50% luck, and at most, a skill barrier of “pick the right option out of 3” and “find possible matches that aren’t the one that’s flashing right now because we can’t even assume you’re skilled enough to find matches on your own”.

    1. Tetris can go the freemium way too. I don’t like Tetris Blitz. But there’s one called Tetris Battle in facebook, which is online versus only, it’s amazing.

  4. My cookie clicker already gain 1,436 trillion/sec and I haven’t closed it for half a year… LOL

    1. Six months and you only have 1,436 trillion CpS? That’s really, really bad.
I did a hard reset four days ago and I already have more than 1000 times higher CpS than that.

      1. please, i literatly have infinity cookies. it actually says infinity cookies. beat that.

        1. I have infinity heavenly chips, it broke the game

        2. This is a whos d**k is smaller contest right here :D

        3. Err sorry it won’t work lol I tested it out to copy it. Lol

  5. But Cookie Clicker doesn’t take my money.

  6. Is cookie clicker that addicting?

    1. it can be, i was sceptical at first too. After 2 hours of continous play i have to agree that it’s somewhat addictive (i stopped after the 2 hours though!)

      1. I hate those games. When I heard of it, after 10 clicks i used my Logitech G15 + G key made as mouse click + some weight on the key = light-speed autoclicking. In 10 minutes i could buy anything.

The only good thing was Achivements. Some were really funny.

        1. Because When you cheat and ruin the experience, the game is bad right?

        2. I went a step further. I used autohotkey to make my mouse for a very long time xD Why click when you can macro.

        3. You cheater, so evil. I like you.

          :)
          (Nice mon. GG.)

    2. ya bet! but its kinda one-day like

    3. *Addictive.

  7. Candy Crush has a disgusting business model and should not be supported at all.

  8. 6 weeks? noob. got 37 resets over more than 6 months xD

  9. Glitch got you there!

  10. Alrighty now this is Hilarious!!! Gamercat you just got served by Glitch.

  11. I play games on phone….. ROMs

  12. you should probably add pixel to the characters page

  13. If he want’s immersive and artful he should he should try the infinity blade trilogy.

    1. Definitely, the IB blad trilogy is a wonderful mobile game series, and definitely proves just how god mobile games can be

  14. I kinda messed up on that

  15. With all due respect. Cookie clicker is free, and good for work. But yeah..

  16. unless they come out with a mobile game that feels like it’s worthwhile to me, (IE, good story line, decent game mechanics, and overall high regaurds in the main quest department) I will not touch any mobile games or apps.
I don’t like games without any discernible point, rhyme or reason. I will try them, yes; but unless there’s a story to keep me coming back, I’m done as soon as I get bored.

  17. after 3 mentions, you finally got me to try out _cookie clicker_. fun, esp. as a game to have in the background at work. ;)

  18. It’s OK, GaMERCat. Cookie Clicker really is pretty addicting. I think I had it open for about 6 weeks too.

    Get ’em, Pixel. XD

  19. I get it, Pixel is the friend that helped gamer cat in the journey

  20. Most games designed for mobile platforms are terrible compared to every other game anyways, case and point being Deus Ex: The (Literal) Fall and the besmirching of names Dungeon Keeper Mobile…
If it’s not turn based or strategy related I doubt it’ll work well with the lack of buttons

  21. I really think gamer cat should play the sims and say what should I name
My sim……. 2 HOURS LATER………I hate this game why won’t my sim just
Make a friend and not eat tons of cake!
But I know you won’t do that because in something you posted on the website
It said that you get your inspiration from when you play games to make GaMERCaT comics

  22. Aren’t Tetris and Candy Crush Saga pretty different? One involves placing tetrominoes to fill complete and clear lines, the other is a ‘match three’ puzzle game hiding a money siphon. One that was intentionally placed, as well.

Sure, they’re both ‘puzzle’ games, but if ‘same genre means it’s just like it’, then something is really off. I mean, pineapples and durians are both spiky fruits, but I wouldn’t try to claim that if you love pineapples it means you’d love durians.

    1. It’s like having 2 different breeds of pineapples, they both taste different but they are still both pineapples.

  23. No more link to newest comic on Tapastic?

    1. I’m trying to figure out how to put it back as I tweak the site. I want it to blend more nicely into the navigation bar.

      1. wuts wrong with having enough cookies?

  24. Yeah, gotta side with GaMERCaT on this one. The Freemium model should not be supported. Not the way Candy Crush does it anyway. That said, nothing wrong with gaming on mobile platforms. There’s a time for epic and immersive, and then there’s a time for just killing a few minutes.

  25. Hopeless Romantic

I honestly can’t tell if I want them to be stupid gaga cuties over one another or anime style bitter enemies that can’t stand not being around the other.

    1. I have a solution, WE MAKE THEM BOTH!!!!! :D

  26. You forgot Pixel’s eyeballs in panel four.

    1. It’s the light reflection on the glasses’s glass.

  27. I’ve gotta say, I agree with Gamercat on this one. The mobile gaming market is a horrible place filled with money hungry corporations that aren’t afraid to steal other people’s ideas, incorporate micro transactions into everything, claim a game is free to play, and pretend to be sorry about it when they get called out.
But the root of the problem is the general public. They don’t care enough about games to learn the difference between an original game made with effort and a generic knock-off designed for the sole purpose of getting players addicted so they are willing to buy progress.

    1. And what makes the games YOU like better then the games I find validation and enjoyment in, Mr. Exclusions?

      1. The games I enjoy don’t charge me for extra lives and powerups.

  28. Still no cookie dungeons, huh?

We had artful games in the primitive days, so it’s possible on mobile. It’ll need to be a little more text-driven, though; mechanically you’re just not going to have access to the caliber of a big BioWare, Bethesda, or Rockstar title.

But a million-dollar budget begs for a shit ROI in the red, so hire a couple students or interns for a weekend, outsource to India, and try your luck at being the next Flappy Bird or Threes or Bejeweled. “It’s not worth my time” is silly, they can be genuinely valid entertainment for a bus ride or whatever.

Just don’t pretend they’re something they’re not. Until we have better words, we’re stuck saying things like “real games”, which seem to set some folk off.

Oh, and please don’t burn budget trying to “socially engineer” your way into the limelight of the sheep gamers. It’s mostly sheer ****ing luck, and whatever minimal shift in odds might happen is going to be offset by every other studio/developer burning their own thousands on it. Wasted money and effort, might as well pray to the Fates. Or RNGesus, is what the kids call it now.

  29. PathOfTheAwesomePie

    Still a Cookie clicker I see~ xD

(I reached so many cookies that space was overloaded at one point… too bad I couldn’t or didn’t know how to save my hard work T. T)

  30. Large Gamer Human

Aaaaaaaaaaand now I’m playing cookie clicker again.

  31. Some games on smartphones are really good, but it’s difficult to find them in that shitload of crap.

Right now I play Kawaii Killer, it’s really good, it’s a paid app, but without in-app purchase so it’s more like old times, everything unlocks with skill once you bought the game (an it needs goooood skills to unlock some stuff :p). Try it, there’s even a demo!

    http://www.kawaii-killer.com

  32. Feather Quill Inkpot

There’s a cookie clicker mobile app now.

  33. Pixel was automatically my favorite character

  34. I had to reset cookie clicker because the “one mind” upgrade was lowering my cps!

  35. Lol cookie clicker is actually pretty fun

  36. Im playing cookie clicker right now

  37. Camolot the Creator

I couldn’t sit through Cookie Clicker, and I found Candy Crush mind-numbing.
Obviously, I only play obscure indie titles that only five people have heard of, and two have reviewed.

Not that it’s all that hard to find a game like that these days, but I digress.

  38. What about Five Nights at Freddy’s? That’s a good mobile game!

    1. Somebody else told me five nights at Freddy’s was a good game but first they said “hi I’m retarded”

  39. cookies. mmmmm

  40. Lock@Shock@Barrel

Oh, you BETTER talk about it! You are sending your cookies threw out the galazy!

  41. Pokemon go is on iphone
